Diana Stanga’s botanical illustrations are bold yet elegant, finding inspiration in the variety and beauty of the natural world. Each striking design expertly balances intricate detail with areas of emptiness, for a contemporary take on the botanical.

With more than 10 years of experience as a Textile Designer, Diana Stanga’s illustrations are informed by her innate understanding of tone, texture and pattern. Having worked in homewares for a short time, Diana became fascinated by how a design can be adapted for use on a range of different materials and surfaces - and in 2020 Diana Stanga established her eponymous brand, offering prints, paintings and ceramics.

The first collection, ‘Japonica’, was designed after discovering the tropical flora on the Japanese archipelago of Okinawa. Using her signature monochromatic halftone, Diana adopted a classical technique for botanical studies - using the finest 00 brush and Japanese carbon ink to lay delicate strokes, one next to the other - building each image in a slow and meditative fashion.

Created with the utmost attention-to-detail, Diana Stanga is conscious to make products that are both durable and timeless. Each piece is made by hand in the UK, using materials and processes that are sustainable, long-lasting and eco-friendly. The ceramics are produced in small batches using traditional methods in the renowned potteries of Staffordshire, whilst the prints and paintings use sustainably-sourced paper from FSC-certified forests.
